Abstract:

On encountering an eyelid or orbital mass, apart from common skin lesions, the diagnosis requires systemic evaluation, radiological and eventually histological confirmation. The majority are uncommon conditions for ophthalmologists.1 The presenting signs in all soft tissue NEOPLASMs and carcinomas are rather similar with lid swelling and proptosis. In this edition Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), granular cell tumor (GCT) and eyelid conjunctival amyloidosis have been reported. In all the diagnosis is based on confirmation of an adnexal mass and by imaging followed by a histopathological report along with systemic investigation.

Background and Objectives: BREAST cancer is the second leading cause of death and one of the most common malignancies among women in the world. The aim of this study was to investigate the preventive effects of postbiotic consisting of soni-cated Bifidobacterium bifidum cells on triple negative BREAST cancer. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six female BALB/c mice aged 5-7 weeks were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=12): Ctrl-, healthy mice,Ctrl+, mice with BREAST cancer with no treatment, and Postbiotic, mice with orally gavage postbiotic before and after 4T1 cell line transplantation. Cancer progress and the effects of postbiotic were assayed by histological, immunohistochemical and gene expression quantification. Results: The histological results showed that administration postbiotic consisting of B. bifidum significantly decreased car-cinogenesis in terms of tumor incidence, multiplicity and volume. The tumor progress was suppressed by oral intake of B. bifidum as showed by p53 and Ki-67 expression. Furthermore, Oral intake of postbiotic resulted in extended survival of mice and inhibited sever weigh loss. Conclusion: Pretreatment with sonication killed B. bifidum, as a postbiotic, inhibited BREAST cancer progress and malignancy.

Abstract:

Background: Female BREAST cancer is known as one of the top five cancers in terms of mortality. Regarding contradictory reports about the mortality trend of this cancer and its association with the socio-economic status of the world countries, we aimed at assessing the global trend of female BREAST cancer mortality rate and investigate the relationship between its mortality rate and development status. Methods: The BREAST cancer AgeStandardized Mortality Rate (ASMR) per 100, 000andHumanDevelopment Index (HDI) for 179 world countries were extracted, respectively from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2017 study and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) database, for the period 1990 to 2017. The marginal modeling methodology was employed to analyze the global trend of ASMR and examine the relationship between ASMR and HDI. Results: The results showed a slightly constant curve for the global trend of BREAST cancer ASMR from 1990 to 2017 (around 17 per 100, 000). Moreover, it was indicated that the ASMR is strongly related to development status. While countries with higher levels of HDI have experienced a declining trend of BREAST cancer mortality rate, countries with lower HDI levels experienced an ascending trend at this period. Conclusions: In general, the findings showed that mortality due to BREAST cancer is still a major health problem in total world countries. Hence, more efforts should be made to screen the patients in the early stages of the disease and promote the level of care, especially in countries with lower levels of economic development.

Abstract:

Background: Pancreatic simple cysts are smaller than the complex cysts and are located in distal areas of pancreas. Papillary solid and cystic tumor is a rare NEOPLASM in children and elderly, and often occurs in young women and girls.Case Report: A forty-year-old woman with a history of epigastria pain for five years had referred several times to medical centers was conducted to be candidate to pancreatic systectomy with general anesthesia. She underwent distal pancreatectomy. Patient postoperative follow-up was continued. Conclusion: Papillary solid and cystic tumor of the pancreas is a rare NEOPLASM with unknown origin and often benign. It presents with vague abdominal pain. Ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT-scan would help to make diagnosis before the surgery. Surgery is the choice treatment and the diagnosis would be proved with histology and immunohistochemistry.

Abstract:

Ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors are relatively infrequent NEOPLASMs that account for approximately 8% of all primary ovarian NEOPLASM. Sex cord-stromal tumors of the ovary include granulosa cell tumors, fibrothecomas, Sertoli-Leydigcell tumors, steroid cell tumors, and sclerosing stromal tumors (SST). Sclerosing stromal tumors account for 2% to 6% of ovarian stromal tumors. Despite the rarity of this particular NEOPLASM, it is not always possible to predict the presence of this tumor preoperatively on the basis of clinical and sonographic findings. Histopathological and immunohistochemical (IHC) examinations confirm the diagnosis. Herein, the clinical findings and histopathological features of SST are described in a 24-year-old female.

Abstract:

Objectives: BREAST and colon cancer are the most common malignancy in the world and the common causes of mortality in Western societies. The aim of the current study was to examine the effectiveness of Glycyrrhiza glabra and Arctium extracts on BREAST cancer (MCF7) and gastrointestinal cancer (HT 29) cell lines, with regard to their naturalness, low cost and easy public access. Materials and Methods: In this study, dose and time were considered as variables in order to determine the optimal effects of the drug. Two MCF7-and HT29 cell lines were cultured on a single layer in RPMI 1640 culture medium and MTT method and flow cytometric method were used to examine apoptosis. Results: The study of cell survival using MTT showed that the aqueous extract of G. glabra at a dose of 2000 μ g/mL and incubation for 24 hours had the most inhibitory effect on the MCF7-cell line. In addition, a dose of 2000 μ g/mL of G. glabra aqueous extract with-24hour incubation represents apoptosis by flow cytometric method. Conclusions: The results of this study confirm the effectualness of this herbal supplement for the treatment of BREAST cancer, and the inclusion of this herbal supplement in the diet may be effective in treating BREAST cancer, given the naturalness of the product, its low cost and public availability.

Abstract:

BREAST Crawl is initiating BREASTfeeding and evidence based method. Followed by numerous studies on BREAST-feeding, and mother and child heath, BC was discussed for which a protocol was presented. There are few studies on BC method. For the first time in Iran, we performed this method in Alzahra hospital of Tabriz where we came across an interesting case. The report is about a term infant who was put on the mother's abdomen to find the mother’ s BREAST. The infant was stuck to the mother’ s skin due to abundant Vernix and could not move despite her attempts. This lengthens the expected time for BC method, but in the end, the infant managed to reach the mother’ s BREAST and started sucking on her BREAST without any help. There are various causes that might prolong BC implementation time or even prevent you from doing it. This case mentions to a problem that never listed in BREAST crawl guideline and may be selected as a hindering factor for BREAST crawl in future.

Abstract:

Background: To report an uncommon case of choroidal metastasis caused by male BREAST cancer. Case report: A 35-year-old gentleman presented with decreased visual acuity of left eye for about 6 months. The patient had a history of infiltrating BREAST carcinoma. The patient underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy for the cancer four years ago. He was under oral medical therapy with tamoxifen. Ophthalmoscopic examination, B-scan ultrasonography, Fundus autofluorescence, Macular Optical Coherence Topography and other imaging were characteristics of metastatic choroidal tumor. Systemic investigations disclosed advanced metastatic disease. Radiotherapy is the preferred treatment for alleviating the symptoms. he received six cycles of systemic chemotherapy every three weeks with Cyclophosphamide, Methotrexate, and 5-fluorouracil. 6 months after treatment the patients BCVA increased to 4/10, and there was a reduction observed in the size of the choroidal metastasis. Conclusion: In situations involving choroidal metastasis, it is important to consider the possibility of BREAST cancer as the primary cancer. We report this case to highlight this unusual source of choroidal metastasis, in males.
